WriteToMyBlog Now Supports Directional Text

October 8th, 2006 - posted by Mark

Directional text allow users to format their posts right to left, rather than the Western default of left to right. This is very useful for people who Blog in Chinese, Japaneses and so on.

directional_text

The directional icons appear on the left hand side of the controls and becomes active when a Return (Enter keyboard button) is entered into the post entries edit area.

To make room for the two new buttons we removed the cut/copy/paste buttons. You can still use these functions through the keyboard shortcuts: Copy (Ctrl+C), Paste (Ctrl+V) and Cut (Ctrl+X). The reason for removing them is Firefox by default does not allow you to click these commands, but does allow the keyboard shortcuts.

It should be noted that your Blog settings will need to allow for text directionality for this feature to work. See your Blog applications documentation for more on this issue.
