SourcedFrom is a semantic syndication service for web content. Which basically means we make website or blog entries available for re-publishing.

It came as a pleasant surprise to be listed (even if it’s near the end, #95).

WriteToMyBlog formats entries using the paragraph html tag and when this Blogger setting is set to ‘Yes’, Blogger converts the paragraphs to tripple line breaks, which can be annoying. WriteToMyBlog will now ask you which setting you wish to use and will automatically format the entry accordingly.

Apparently the problem occurs with PHP passing xmlrpc data using HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA. If you have been having difficulty using WordPress with blog clients such as WriteToMyBlog the issue can easily be solved.

If you didn’t know Flickr is an excellent way to store and share your photos online. They provide both free and premium paid services.

To access your photos click on the Flickr tab on the WriteToMyBlog home page and enter your Flickr username. Then click the search button and this will find all your public photos. Alternatively you can search other users photos, however please note that these may have copyright restrictions. If you like you can search (and use) writetomyblog to find our photos. You will notice there is also a remember checkbox. You can check this to have your Flickr username remembered each time. This is stored securely in your browser preferences not by us, for your privacy.

Just click the YouTube tab on WriteToMyBlog and you can search for videos to insert. You can also preview the videos before inserting. Once inserted you can right click on the video and edit its settings. No need to worry about cut/pasting HTML code to insert videos, we’ve done all the geek technical stuff for you.

By default you’ll see the ‘Advanced’ toolbar. This gives great functionality but often you just want to use a simpler toolbar and can do so by clicking on the ‘Standard’ tab. WriteToMyBlog will remember what toolbar setting you prefer every time you visit. We are developing and hope to have available soon a way for you to specifically choose which individual buttons you want to have appear on the toolbar.

The Blogger API has been notoriously problematic. Thank goodness the new version of Blogger (currently called Blogger Beta) now uses the Google API! This means WriteToMyBlog works great with the new version of Blogger. Most Blogger users have now been invited by Blogger to upgrade, if you have we recommend you do so. We are sorry for all of you who have encountered those annoying Blogger API errors, I can assure you the new version works great - thanks to Google.

To publish Post entries using WriteToMyBlog select ‘Blogger (Beta)’ from within the WriteToMyBlog accounts blog service list. You will be asked to authenticate yourself through your Google account. This is very secure and you can revoke WriteToMyBlog if you want at any time (logging out of WriteToMyBlog will also do this).

Often within your Blogger settings converting line breaks is set. It is important to make sure this is set to ‘No’. This will prevent double line breaks being added by Blogger to Post entries sent from WriteToMyBlog. For instructions on setting this within Blogger click here.

Often people leave comments on a post within a Blog; in addition you
could use this feature to allow people to write a post in their own Blog
with a Trackback to your post. WriteToMyBlog will be automatically pre
filled with the post title, content and Trackback address.
